The Lord's Prayer Ministries exists to serve the physical and spiritual needs of children who have been harmed by conflict, neglect, famine, and war – raising them up to be the future leaders of the nation of Liberia.
Our Founder
John Kpewoan
John Kpewoan was born and raised in Liberia. He miraculously escaped from the country in the middle of its long and violent civil war, immigrating to Canada. But he felt called to return to his homeland and launched The Lords Prayer Ministries in 1999. He continues to live and serve on campus in Paynesville with his wife Cecilia.
OUR APPROACH
The Lord's Prayer is a multifunctional ministry, holistically serving the needs of our children and community with three different expressions:
TLP ACADEMY
Our school educates children from K-12 in a rigorous education that prepares them to contribute to society upon graduation. TLP Academy graduates often pursue post-secondary education through the support of our charitable donors.
TLP FELLOWSHIP CHURCH
Our church serves the needs of our immediate community through teaching, worship, and Christian community. TLP Fellowship Church keeps our work centered on Christ, and it gives our organization a heart of service.
TLP ORPHANAGE
We welcome children who either do not have a family or safe shelter of their own. This provides stability, physical nourishment, and–most importantly–belonging to those kids who would otherwise not have a safe place to call home.
